Our values are derived from our school vision and linked to scripture.
Hope – we hope that we have the resilience to keep learning
Our value of Hope is rooted in the story of Noah and is reflected in our vision. “When the rainbow appears in the clouds I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant [promise] between me and all living beings on earth.” At Clearwell, we enable our community to be life-long learners, we aim to instil a sense of hope and resilience in order to overcome adversity.
Peace – find inner peace and become utterly immersed in your creativity
Our value of inner Peace is rooted in the quote from Ephesians 2. 10, “We are God’s masterpiece, outwardly you may look like a piece of junk, but inwardly and in reality you are God’s work of art. God does not make any junk.” At Clearwell, we encourage everyone to see themselves as God’s work of art, each unique in our own way. We need to find our inner peace, and with that our creativity can flourish.
Trust – a safety net for our adventures
Our value of Trust is rooted in the quote from Mark, 4, “Jesus said to his disciples, why are you frightened, have you still no faith?” At Clearwell, we encourage children to develop relationships of trust with all, in order to feel comfortable when taking risks.
Forgiveness – never be afraid to say you are sorry
Our value of Forgiveness is rooted in the quote from Luke 19, “Listen Sir, I will give half of my belongings to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone, I will pay him back four times as much.” At Clearwell, as Jesus forgave Zacchaeus, we encourage our community to live out the value of forgiveness by communicating when we are sorry when we need to and by being humble enough to admit our mistakes.
Courage – have faith in yourself and God to take risks
Our value of Courage is rooted in the quote from Samuel, 17:1-25, “Your majesty, no one should be afraid of this philistine, I will go and fight him.” As David was courageous and prepared to stand up to Goliath, at Clearwell, we encourage our community to take risks and to be upstanding for things in which we believe are right and just.
Friendship – respect yourself and each other and friendships develop
Our value of Friendship is rooted in the quote of Luke, 6: 31 “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” At Clearwell, we encourage our community to treat others with respect, speak to them as you would like to be spoken to and value them as individuals.
