Applying for a Reception 2025 place

If your child turns five between September 1st 2025, and August 31st 2026, they're eligible for admission for the reception 2025 intake.

Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) processes applications for admission to reception at our school. Parents and carers living in the area should receive a letter from GCC on or after November 4th 2024, to inform them of the process involved.

If you'd like further information, please refer to GCC's School Admissions page, which contains helpful information about the process, online user guides and guidance booklets.

Our school follows GCC admissions policy for applications, see GCC's Determined admission criteria and scheme for 2025. They will agree to parental preferences as far as possible. However, where there are more applicants than places, our Admissions policy gives more information on the selection process: Clearwell C of E Primary School Admissions Policy.

Further information about the Appeals process within Gloucestershire County Council is available on the GCC Information on admission appeals page.

If your child was 'summer born' (born between May 1st and August 31st), then they are eligible to defer entry into reception. Download the GCC's Deferment for Summer Born Children information form to find out more.
