Clearwell School

Our School is situated in the heart of Clearwell village, in the Forest of Dean. The children benefit from the beautiful environment and the support of the local businesses, including Clearwell Castle, Clearwell Caves and local hotels. We value our close links to our local Church, St Peters, and our Christian ethos underpins everything we do as a Church of England School.

If you are interested in taking a look around the school, please contact Kirsty Tarry at 01594 834904 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to book a visit. Alternatively, we have a number of open mornings planned, so find out more on our Open Mornings 2024 page.

A local authority inspection reported, "Spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is a strength of the school”.

As a small village school, we are proud of the friendly and nurturing environment we provide for our children. In this environment, they develop as confident and independent learners and caring and responsible members of their community.

We have dedicated and talented staff who encourage and challenge the children to achieve their very best and to aim high in all areas whilst also enjoying their time at school.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website. If you would like any of the information in a different format, e.g., paper, please ask the school administrator. However, we also welcome the opportunity to talk to both new and existing parents, so please do not hesitate to contact us on 01594 834904 to speak to our Headteacher, Mrs Joanne Jones, or Administrator, Mrs Kirsty Tarry.
